Isla Rose Flowers is a true family affair.

We’re John and Anna Mehrtens, and together with our three young daughters, we grow beautiful, seasonal blooms on our lifestyle property nestled under the Hunter Hills in Waimate, South Canterbury.

Our little farm is named after our twin daughters, who were born just before the first lockdown. What began as a quiet time at home soon blossomed—literally—into a flourishing garden, lovingly tended by us and our wee farmers. These flowers are a reflection of that time and the joy we’ve found in growing together.

We now share our blooms through our roadside stall, direct orders, wholesale to florists, and for weddings and events.

Growing has been a lifelong passion for both of us, and we feel so grateful to share this journey not only with our girls but also with our wider community.

We’re excited about what’s to come—and can’t wait to share it with you.
